⏹Spicy chili oil wontons & ⬅️bbq pork wonton noodle soup. Homemade delicious bbq pork (so lean, yet so moist) made by @yelpsalot complimented my homemade wonton soup perfectly. The fresh chili oil made by a local tofu shop Huong Sen Tofu completed my spicy chili oil wontons. Wrapping these won tons brought back so many memories growing up in my parents restaurant and having to wrap wontons for dayz 🤣. Finally got a chance to see what the hype is all about at @somisomiicecream and try ube ice cream. This is the ahboong, the upside down soft serve with the Nutella filled waffle fish. The soft serve is so creamy almost custard like. The Nutella filled fish waffles made the ice cream, not only is it really cute, but it’s also delicious! I also got a couple orders of 5 pack taiyaki (warm waffle filled fish) for my son & his friends. 1st time trying fresh Branzino fish from @absseafood. Roasted in oven and stuffed with onions, tomatoes, lemons & fresh rosemary; drizzled with olive oil & white wine & fresh oregano on top, inspired by @allrecipes. Hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving! Just us this year, missing our extended family, but so grateful for them continuing to stay healthy. Gave us the opportunity to try something different with the turkey this year, but we still kept the sides traditional. We usually bring a fried turkey while my Aunt roasts a turkey. This year, we splatchcocked the turkey and smoked it in the Traeger. Came out so delicious, so moist with a crispy skin and still getting that gravy with the cut out part of the spine. Definitely the way to go with less clean-up. We have a new favorite pumpkin pie from Larsen’s Bake Shop in Apple Hill. Air fryer chicken wings as delicious as Firewings or Wing Stop. Starting top left, then clockwise-salt n pepper, garlic parmesan, Korean style, & lemon pepper. Rinse, then dry the wings with paper towel. Lightly salt & pepper the naked wings. Put them in air fryer for 15min at 370 degree F then flip and air fry another 5 min at 390. (I use GoWise 5.8qt air fryer, temps may vary with different AF). Place your cooked wings in a bowl, add your favorite seasonings and toss them around to get all the flavoring coated on the wings. My new favorite @ataste.above , ⏹garlic shrimp and ⬅️chili oil with won ton, 😋😋😋. The garlic shrimp has that perfect amount of garlic and buttery-ness unlike how some come drenched with a pool of oil on the bottom of the plate. The shrimp is so tender, reminds me of Famous Kahuki Shrimp Truck in Waialua, HI. The chili oil wonton has the perfect amount of heat, so delicious! Also, pick up some of this addicting ⬅️Magi Planet furikake popcorn while you’re there, it’s sooo good. Every gourmet kernel is popped, no hard half cooked pieces neither. More experimenting with sourdough...Detroit/Sicilian style pizza and Philadelphia’s tomato pie. We were first introduced to tomato pie when we visited our friends in PA several years back. We have search everywhere in the west coast and have yet to find anything like it. So I was determined to tackle it...tonight, my son and I have finally satisfied our craving! I made it easy on myself as I used @raoshomemade pizza sauce instead of making my own this time and added fresh oregano & basil from my herb garden since I was already making the crust using sourdough focaccia. (Rao’s pizza and pasta sauces are just phenomenal). It worked out beautifully sprinkled with some pecorino-romano cheese. Peach dumplings, we loved the grilled peaches so much from a few days ago, we had to have them again. This time I grilled them on a grill plate on my stovetop instead of the grill outside. Tastes just as amazing as if grilled on the Weber. Cut a sheet of @pepperidgefarm‘s puff pastry in 4 squares. Fill the square with half a grilled peach. Brush some apricot or peach jam on top, fold the four corners of the puff pastry together, cinch it with a pinch at the top, bake at 400 degrees for 20 mins. Japchae, Korean glass noodles, one of our family’s favorite Korean side dishes. We love it so much we eat it as a main dish served with some leftover galbi. The yam noodles are low in carbs and has a low glycemic index. I find that @seonkyounglongest‘s Japchae recipe is the best. The way she prepares it makes it so easy & delicious too. Korean style short ribs (or Galbi) is an easy weeknight meal grilled on the Weber for 2-3 min on each side with some bell peppers, onions and peaches. Galbi marinade from @nytcooking . Roasted garlic rosemary sourdough. Put the 2nd loaf in the freezer. Tip: Take frozen loaf, run it quickly thru water, put in oven at 325 degrees for about 10-15 min and it’ll be just like as if it was made fresh from the oven. The revived bread was great for lunch w genoa salami, brie cheese, grapes, raspberries, and white pomegranates. Easy peach tart. Just made the easiest dessert with fresh farmer market peaches and @pepperidgefarm puff pastry. Slice the peaches into thin slices, mix cream cheese w a little powdered sugar & almond extract. Cut a piece of puff pastry into rectangle or square & just layer cream cheese mixture on bottom then the sliced peaches and brush on some apricot jam. Petrale sole from @absseafood with lemon butter white wine sauce. 1st time tasting petrale sole, it’s really light, mild tasting & flaky. So easy & delicious. Salt n pepper the fillet, dredge in flour, pan fry for 2-3 mins on each side. Put the fillets on a platter. Using same pan, saute minced shallots (about 1/4 a med size one) in 2 T butter til shallots translucent, add 1/4 cup dry white wine and simmer, then 1/4 cup lemon juice. Add a sprig of chopped Italian parsley to garnish at very end. Tri-tip is one of my favorite things to bbq on a weeknight. It’s fairly quick & low maintenance at 20 min on each side (for med rare) on medium indirect heat on the @webergrills. Served with some roasted veggies and roasted potatoes on the Air Fryer makes a well rounded meal. I grilled extra portabella mushrooms & vegetables for roasted vegetable sandwiches during the week. Since I had some homemade sourdough naan bread and some @stonefirenaan mini naan bread left in the freezer, I decided to make naan bread pizza for dinner. Little did I know how much fun my son had making his own pizzas. The broccoli and onion pizza with Rao’s pizza sauce was amazing. Our other favorite is the margharita pizza (minus the tomatoes for my son). Heat a pizza stone at 400 degrees for 20min, place pizza on stone, broil for 3 to 5 minutes.
