Updates of 17th Jan 2021 1. This 2 year old has fever 103 and a big wound at the frontleg and a small one at the backhoof. 2. She was found sitting somewhere unable to stand up. 3. This cow has a wound below the tail with a few maggots in it. 4. Her back is broken. 5. She is small, not older than 1.5 years and her backleg is broken so badly that its hanging only on a strip of flesh. That's after amputation. 6. Here is an elder bail send from Sadabad. He has a small outgrowth at the backhoof and is trembling from the cold. Nice to see a deshi cow ( or bail ) in between all this mixed ones and jerseys. 7. This jersey bull came together with the bail, one toe of his back hoof is cut even the bone is cut though because of the mud sticking to the wound it cannot be seen. The toe is missing from his hoof. 8. She had an accident, her leg is so badly broken and smashed that it cannot heal and must be amputated immediately before the infection starts.

5th December 2020 Everyday our #cowshelter receives cows, calves and bulls, that are not just #abandoned, but injured ones. It is our privilege to serve them, #nurse them, feed them and give them a place to call home. This will be the place where they will live till the end. And when they leave, we give a dignified #burial to them. We don't sell any cow products. Neither the #cowmilk, nor the #cowskin, after they leave their body. Every day we generally provide details of the cows that came in on this day, shown in the pics: 1. This is cow came a night before, there is baby in her belly but the she cannot stand up though the people of the gaushalla she belonged to said, they did not know why. 2. This calf came together with the cow in the last photo from the same gaushalla. They said she was laying beneath the hooves of the cows. She cannot stand or even sit without support. 3. Maggots went in the wound at the ear and though somebody had put something on to kill the maggots the ear consist of dead tissue only with much swelling at the root. 4. A small calf with mukhpaka ( FMD ) and fever 102.5 5. Both - alright. 6. A deshi bull who got himself a wound at the forehead in a bullfight, maggots went in. If we would not take him in, the maggots would grow and spread. 7. A 2 year old bachara from the sarkari gaushalla in Radhakund. They brought him in their own truck on which is written " nagat nigam "- he cannot stand up. In the photo he is trying but cannot. 8. A bail/oxen with a very small wound. We dont refuse entry to bails even if they are well and healthy because they were all made to suffer and if we would not take take them in, would suffer even more by being taken to be killed or injured and eaten alive by dogs and this one is old anyway. Every day we generally provide details of the cows that came in on this day, shown in the pics: 1. A cow's lower backlegs are both broken - she fell into a " nehr " / watercanal just before the water was coming in people saw her and pulled her out. 2. Thats the bull- one backlegs joint is very much swollen but there are probably more injuries that keep him from standing up and cannot be seen - it is possible also that he got too weak from not eating enough because the body is too heavy to walk far on 3 legs. 3. This poor little one got torn up by some vehicle. 4. Two cows and the baby of the black and white one - the white one was thrown down by a bull and the jersey type one slipped and the 2 hipbones went wrong - the babys eyes are in a horrible condition and the light in them is gone. Thats the baby, her eyes are swollen out of her body - she is blind now. Its beyond our knowledge. 5. Two very small ones found on the streets - too small for a chance at survival in such a dangerous environment. Both are alright. 6. Accident - he is probably a bit over 1 year old, his shoulder is broken. He stands a little with help. 7. A very thin cow with wounds on 2 of her hoofs. One toe grown out too long with a lot of dead and bad smelling tissue between the toes. 8. Another cow who also got her hoof injured. She was found sitting in rubbish. 9. She fell into some poka / waterbody, people pulled her out. She is allright now.(left) Another year old one - thrown by a train - no injurys to be seen but he does not stand up. (Right) 10. A cow with a wound in the ear and a few maggots in it. In India- PayPal.me/radhasurabhi From Europe, PayPal - f.brueningsudevidasi@gmail.com Visit - www.radhasurabhi.com/donate

This calf of some 2 years had a car driven into him and the frontlegs dont function anymore - but no obviously broken bones or open wounds. 2. Too small for the road - a bit thin but otherwise allright.( left) He was with the little one in the last photo, we could not leave him behind. He is allright also.( right) 3. Small one abandoned, he had an accident and there is much swelling at the belly and he cannot stand up, mukhpaka ( FMD ) also. 4. We were told she had " daura " - its the local word for some kind of epilepsy. The cow falls over suddenly and trembles and twiches, she got her horn broken off that way. Thats her baby.(right) 5. A car hit him and threw him and some young kind men saw it and brought him/her straight away. Outwardly no injury can be seen. We shall find out in a day or two where the injuries are if any, legs are not broken at least. 6. She was brought from Agra to gether with the cow who got "daura" and her calf - she cannot stand up and looks very run down. (left) Small one - allright.(right) 7. Prolapse 8. Not much can be seen on the photo. Black cow in the night but her tail is cut and 2 hoofs are injured. 9. She cannot stand up. Her calf is alright. 10. One of our gwalas found an injured calf laying on the street on his way home. The accident had just happened, the mother stood near by. Both upper backlegs are broken, he was trembling. The swelling is rather advanced which means the attack of germs on the liver is rather advanced. 6. Her leg got broken and nobody took care of her. Every day we generally provide details of the cows that came in on this day, shown in the pics: 1. She has been sitting since many days we were told. There is a wound on the ribs with puss but its not so big, swelling on the chest made her too weak to stand up. We took out 1 to 2 liter of bloody water fom that. Its close to the heart and that makes it dangerous. There was another cow with her a bit further who also could not stand up - she was eaten alive by dogs. 2. Small one - allright. 3. Somebody brought her - she had a small wound below the chest and that got infected. Infection spread and there is swelling around chest and down the legs, we cleaned out a handfull of dead tissue near the wound. She had been sitting since days but in the evening she stood up. 4. Horn broken off. 5. A bull with a wound at the lower backleg and 102 fever. 6. A blind bull. 7. Somebody brought them - they dont belong together. The cow got cut up by a razor wire but not badly. It's more from fright that she does not stand up. The black calf has a broken upper backleg but no wound. Same after unloading - he had hypothermia of only 93 and died within a few hours. 3. She is very thin and has advanced mukhpaka ( FMD ) 4. A bull with the bone sticking out. There are more fractures that can be known by the puss making its way through several holes in the tissue. It must be amputated because it cannot be healed with antibiotic. Same after amputation. Now pain is mostly gone compared to before and what remains can be controlled by painkillers. 5. Another bull came in just now so i had to stop posting and go out. He had an accident but nothing can be seen. And thats how he was found. 6. Another bull who had an accident and was send but he also died shortly after arrival. 7. The people who brought her said she suffered from prolapse but for the time being it did not come out but there are no " push outs "(left) She has been sitting for 10 days we were told. When she arrived here we found she had extreme hypothermia 90 only - no injuries to be seen (right) 8. This cow suffers from HS (Heamosepticaemia ). Her throat and cheeks are much swollen. Its a killing disease but can be controlled in initial stages. This one seems rather advanced. 9. Accident and hypothermia 98 - a wound at the frontleg is visible though soaked in black oil. She might have a broken hipbone also. Thats her calf - allright. 10. A 2 year old male calf with one toe of his fronthoof in a horrible condition full of maggots. If we would not take him in there would be maggots sooner or later. He was trembling from fear when we we opened the ramp of the ambulence, afraid he was taken to be killed. When he saw all the cows he stopped trembling. 3. A thin 2 year old - a wound with maggots between frontleg and chest. 4. One year old with a cut in the frontleg - not a big cut but maggots would go in. He is rather small also and needs shelter from the incoming cold weather. 5. Hypothermia 95 - he might have had an accident first because there a places on his body with the skin off. Once we get the temperature to normal we will try to put him on his legs.(left) Her owners brought her - she gave birth and got mastitis, the baby died ( probably from starvation ) and now the cow cannot stand up. (Right) 6. Her chest was cut by a ploughing machine. 7. The eye swollen close - she has been laying flat somewhere for days. 8. A bull who got his leg cut deeply. 9. Car accident- her tongue is hanging out and the jaw is out of place with a big hole. One toe lost the horncover completly and the other leg's skin is of the flesh for a very big space. First pic was sent to us by gauraksha dal valle. 10. This one came with previous one. She stands up a little, the driver said then turns a bit and looses balance and falls. she keeps her head high and in a crooked way. It looks like she is in pain and there is a swelling where the cheekbone meets the neck. Small one - mukhpaka ( FMD ) 6. The upper backleg is broken - about a year old - there are teeth marks on the back. It seems dogs were hunting this one and while running away she got her leg broken. Some people must have saved her from the dogs. 7. We got another nilgaie baby - a dog bit it between the legs. The other sitting in the back of the photo has started to stand up. 8. New one - very fearfull - kind of hiding below the platform. She was brought because she has many ticks. 9. Poor little one has rabies - it cannot be cured. 10. A cow who cannot stand up.
