Happy Friday everyone! We want to give a huge shout out to all our hardworking Solid Waste and Recycling staff that are out in the field each and everyday!

@recyclerightdenton

I spy with my little eye, items that are NOT recyclable! This picture was taken yesterday (1/27/21) at the North Lakes recycling drop-off center. Toys, crutches, office chairs, mattresses, laundry baskets are NOT recyclable and should NOT be placed in your curbside recycling or at a recycling drop-off location. These items can be donated to a local thrift store if you do not want to place them in your trash bin. Mattresses, office chairs, crutches, and large toys are considered bulky items. Denton Residents get 2 bulky item pickups a week included in their monthly service rate. Call Customer Service at (940) 349-8700, to schedule a pickup at least one business day before your collection day. #KnowWhatToThrow #recycleright

Did you know? Aluminum is one of the most recycled -- and most recyclable -- materials on the market today. Nearly 75 percent of all aluminum produced in the U.S. is still in use today. Aluminum can be recycled directly back into itself over and over again in a true closed loop. Toss your empty, clean, dry, and loose aluminum cans in your recycling bin.

We hope everyone is staying warm on this chilly weekend! As for Bernie, we know his upcycled mittens got him covered.
