πŸ• Whose having Pizza for dinner tonight? πŸ• Pizza boxes are OK for the Yellow Lid Bin as long as you have removed all the pizza and crusts first! If the box has cheese and food stuck to it, tear off the lid and place this in the Yellow Lid Bin and dispose of the food covered base in the Red Lid Bin. If the box just has a small bit of oil on it and no food, it's fine to put the whole thing in the Yellow Lid Bin β™»οΈπŸ’šπŸŒ Check our website out for further info on what should be going in your yellow lid bins: https://1coast.com.au/education/a-z-waste-disposal-recycling-guide/ #getitsorted #recycling #centralcoast #recycle #CentralCoastNSW #recyclebin #sustainability #reducereuserecycle #bins #binsofinstagram #1coast #centralcoastcouncil #cleanaway #centralcoastevents #pizza

Are you a 'wish-cycler?' - Someone who puts anything that could be reused into the yellow lid bin in the hope that it may get recycled!? β™»οΈπŸ’šπŸŒ The only items that can go in your yellow lid bin to be recycled are: βœ… Plastic bottles & containers that held a product used in the kitchen, bathroom or laundry; βœ… Glass bottles & jars that contained food, drink or medication; βœ… Metal food, drink or spray cans (spray cans only accepted with contents used within the home or on the body - no spray paints etc) βœ… Paper & Cardboard items free from laminates and plastic/foil coatings No other items! If you are throwing away things that you think could be reused such as clothing, bedding, shoes or electrical items please try donating them, giving them away or selling them online. #getitsorted #recycling #centralcoast #recycle #centralcoastnsw #recyclebin #sustainability #reducereuserecycle #bins #binsofinstagram #1coast #centralcoastcouncil #cleanaway

Gone camping over the school holidays?? Make sure you dispose of your used butane canisters from your camp BBQ thoughtfully as this one thrown into a recycling bin almost cooked more than the snags at your Sunday BBQ!!! Butane canisters in any of your bins bin can be deadly. Collect your unwanted canisters and store them somewhere safe at home until Councils next Chemical Cleanout Collection to dispose of them safely and for free. Visit: https://1coast.com.au/other-waste-and-recycling-services/hazardous-waste/ for further details. #GetitSorted #Recycle #ChemCleanout #CentralCoast

Today we are at Prings Road Niagara Park talking with some residents about recycling right in unit blocks. Remember when living in a shared environment not to bag your recycling and to flatten cardboard boxes to ensure you leave lots of room in the recycling bin for everyone ♻️♻️♻️

Think you're an awesome recycler? πŸ€·β€β™€οΈπŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ Most Coasties are! πŸ™ŒπŸ™ŒπŸ™Œ We do have a certain group of Coasties who are a tad overzealous though, putting anything in the recycle bin that might be able to be reused, is made out of plastic or that has a recycling symbol on it. We have created a specific page on our website for this overzealous bunch called 'You Can't Recycle That!' It's a quick guide to 12 common items people think we can recycle but that actually cause contamination in our recycling streams. These 12 items are: β€‹βŒ Plastic Bags and Wrappers β€‹βŒ Butane Cannisters and Gas Bottles β€‹βŒ Disposable Paper Cups β€‹βŒ Clothing, Shoes, Bags and Bedding β€‹βŒ Meat Trays β€‹βŒ Polystyrene β€‹βŒ Newspapers Wrapped in Plastic β€‹βŒ Shredded Paper β€‹βŒ Plastic Buckets, Toys and Nick Nacks β€‹βŒ Long Life Cartons β€‹βŒ Paper Towel and Tissue β€‹βŒ Scrap Metal If you're guilty of putting any of these items in the recycle bin, please take the time to check out our website and find out why we cannot accept these items for recycling: https://1coast.com.au/education/you-cant-recycle-that/ When it comes to waste management, let’s get educated and get it sorted, because together, we can make a sustainable future possible. #recycling #1coast #getitsorted #sustainability #sustainablefuture #centralcoastnsw #centralcoastevents #binsofinstagram #binstagram #cleanaway #centralcoastcouncil

We don't like horror stories when it comes to your recycling bins! πŸ’€ πŸ§Ÿβ€β™‚οΈ πŸ’© πŸ‘» Remember – anything smelly, disgusting, used or gross should never be placed in your Yellow Lid Recycle Bin. Our sorters have to remove this waste – by hand! Recycling isn't that scary - for more information on what can be recycled, visit: https://1coast.com.au/education/you-cant-recycle-that/ #getitsorted #recycling #1coast #sustainablefuture #centralcoastnsw #centralcoastevents #binsofinstagram #binstagram #contamination #reduce #reuse #recycle #ghoststory #sustainability #cleanaway #centralcoastcouncil

β›ΊGoing camping this long weekend??πŸ•οΈ Make sure you dispose of your used butane canisters from your camp BBQ thoughtfully as this one thrown into a recycling bin almost cooked more than the snags at your Sunday BBQ!!!😱😱😱 Butane canisters in any of your bins bin can be deadly. Please, don't bin your hazardous waste - take it to the next Chemical Cleanout Event. Hazardous waste placed in any of your three bins can cause fires in the trucks, at the recycling depot and landfills. They also pose a threat to our workers. Please dispose of your hazardous waste thoughtfully and responsibly. For further information check out: https://1coast.com.au/other-waste-and-recycling-services/hazardous-waste/ #1coast #binsofinstagram #getitsorted #sustainablefuture #centralcoast

Hey Coasties, hop on it - don't forgot bin night! Waste and recycling services will remain the same on the Central Coast across the Easter Long Weekend including Good Friday and Easter Monday. To ensure your bin is emptied, make sure your bins are out the night before your bin day. Cleanaway and Central Coast Council would like to wish you a safe and happy Easter! πŸ°β™»οΈπŸ˜
