Soooo, THIS thing has been happening. While my hat business has been down, my studio is going up. During a normal year, I’m not sure how I could have managed overseeing a construction project. It has been in the works for two years and I can finally sort of see a light at the end of the hallway. 😂 There’s still soooooo much to do on the inside and most of that work we’re doing ourselves. Like I said, during normal business operations, I’m not sure how this would even be happening.

Another custom hat for another fabulously stylish customer. This one was just a colour change request on an existing design. I’m so often pleasantly surprised and inspired by the colour combination requests I get. I always hope to get a picture back of whatever fantastic outfit the hat is intended for. Another recent custom order I loved making. This was a traveling hat for an adventure in Scotland. I worked closely with Shawn to get the specifications just so and I think it suits them to a T. Carmen Sandiego anyone? My customers request the most fabulous custom hats. This one was a particular stunner. Having been forced to downsize significantly this year, custom work has been the highlight. DragonCon went virtual today!Hooray! It’s usually the highlight of my year so I’m sad not to be there this year. Booo. The many joys of a fig tree. Our backyard had a much trampled and neglected fig tree at the bottom of the garden when we moved in. I’ve pampered it for 2 Springs and it’s paying me back in spades. Among other things, I made cardamom fig jam and paired it with the other local treats in pic #5. @boxcarrhandmadecheese Their new Doeling goat cheese is to die for. @loafdurham Their Rosemary Pepita bread on Wednesdays is great for sandwiches. @geerstreetgarden The Rosemary ham is addictive.
