The Book House is so lucky to receive the book, “G My Name Is Girl: A Song of Celebration from Argentina to Zambia” from author, @dawnmasi .This book beautifully represents girls from all over the world.

“Girls from 26 different countries—Argentina to Zambia—are thoughtfully represented in this A to Z tribute to global girlhood. Children will enjoy reading about each girl's name, empowering chracter trait, and country, while learning how we are all connected.”

Many thanks to author @corinnaluyken and @penguinkids for the donation of “The Tree in Me”. This book is gorgeous and holds a beautiful story. I’m sure this book will go quickly, so come visit The Book House today.

“Through poetic text and exquisite illustrations of children reveling in nature, this picture book explores the various ways we as human beings are strong, creative, and connected to others. Each of us is like a tree, with roots and fruit, and an enduring link to everything else in nature. "The tree in me is strong. It bends in the wind, and has roots that go deep . . . to where other roots reach up toward their own trunk-branch-crown and sky." #thetreeinme #childrensbooks #readtoyourkids #peguinkids #read #bookstagram #bookrecommendations #littlefreelibrary #littlefreelibrariesofinstagram

The Book House received an advanced reading copy of the book Love People Use Things by @celadonbooks I’ll begin with 3 words. READ THIS BOOK.

“Minimalists don’t focus on having less, less, less; they focus on making room for more: more time, more passion, more creativity, more experiences, more contribution, more contentment, more freedom. Clearing the clutter creates room for the intangibles that make life rewarding.”

Connection with others is more than any materialistic item you could buy. It won’t love you, it won’t help you and it won’t make you as happy as you think. This book was finished by the authors in the spring of 2020, when the corona virus was beginning to end our normal lives. “A pandemic has a sneaky way of putting things in perspective.” It pushed people stuck at home to realize even with a household full of technology, expensive toys, handbags, watches, and name brand clothing that none of that mattered. They still felt lonely, miserable, and craving human connections. Love People Use Things by @theminimalists Joshua Fields Millburn and Ryan Nicodemus was truly inspiring. Over the last four years, I have been letting go of the extra “stuff” in our household, I’ve been donating and emptying the closets. I am happy in a smaller home and don’t have the want for an unneeded upgrade. We live below our means and what I learned from this is that the less I have, the happier I am. I’m less stressed with the chaos. My kids play better and use their imagination with less toys, and my husband who can be a little stubborn with his “stuff” doesn’t even notice when something is gone like he swore he would. Relationships, friendships, family, communication, physical touch, smiles from across a room, catching up with an old friend, that is what is important and will make you feel rich in life. Learn to love people and get loved in return. Use things not people.

This book will be available July 2021. I can’t recommend it enough.

I rarely get to meet the people who donate to The Book House. Today I met the sweetest woman who donated a great box of books. My son and niece were extremely excited that they found coloring pages when they were investigating the box. Thanks again so much, it’s the people like you who help make The Book House so successful! 💙💙#littlefreelibrary #donations #books #read #littlefreelibrarystewards #thankful

Eric Carle is my son’s favorite author. I’ve read his books time and time again and every time I finish, my son says, “read it one more time Mommy”. He even had a “The Very Hungry Caterpillar” first birthday. Tonight at bedtime, in honor of Eric Carle, we read 6 of his books. He is one of my favorite children authors and I’m so glad he followed his passion and shared his books with the world. ❤️#ericcarle #ericcarlemuseum #veryhungrycaterpillar #brownbearbrownbear #littlefreelibrarysteward #littlefreelibrary #books #readmorebooks #readtoyourkids #readtogether
