Sunday Igboho Insists on Friday Deadline for Fulanis in Ibarapa, Says Aare Onakakanfo is Part of the Movement. Popular Yoruba activist, Chief Sunday Adeyemo popularly know as Sunday Igboho has yet again insisted on his earlier position that the Fulanis in Ibarapa region vacate the axis. Sunday Igboho, had on friday january 15, 2020, visited the Igangan residence of the Seriki of the Fulanis in Oyo State, Alhaji Saliu Kadir where he issued a 7-day ultimatum for the fulanis in the zone to leave the region. During a live interview which was posted on Isokan Omo Yoruba Tv, Igboho dared Saliu Seriki of Fulanis to remain in Ibarapa if he had anything that was still not clear to anyone. Answering questions on the support he had received to isssue a quit notice to the Fulanis in the Ibarapa region, he said. ''We are chasing Saliu Seriki from Ibarapa region to tell him that everyone in the Country has his own territory. "I wonder why people are calling Aare-Onakakanfo all sort of names. He is part of this movement, including prominent traditional rulers in Yoruba land. If you want to know they are part of this movement, let anyone of them touch any Yoruba native on Friday in Ibarapa. "The Fulanis have become giants obstacles on our land. This is what can never happen in the North. A whole doctor who came all the way from Germany was slain on his farmland. ''Alhaja Subawah from Imeko who built a filling station in Ibarapa was killled in her station. Our ladies are being raped while herdsmen countinue to kidnap our fathers and mothers for ransom. ''If the political and traditional rulers in Yoruba land are happy about all these attacks, I dare Saliu Seriki to wait for us on Friday. "They are threating us with Muhammadu Buhari. We will know the true owner of Yoruba land on Friday." Igboho Said.
At least three people were confirmed dead, several injured with five vehicles and two motorcycles burnt in a petrol tanker explosion around GTB bank, IBB Boulevards in Abeokuta early Tuesday morning. According to eyewitness, the incident occurred around few minutes past 8am and was caused by brake failure on the part of the tanker. According to the eyewitness , the tanker, which was coming from the Kuto flyover bridge experienced brake failure while descending from the bridge, lost control and fell, thereby spilling its content on the road. Mr Ahmed Umar, the Sector Commander, Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), confirmed the incident to News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Abeokuta. He confirmed that three people died in the incident while several others were injured, saying that both the deceased and injured were taken to Federal Medical Center (FMC),Idi Aba, Abeokuta. "The cause of the accident is still under investigation , we have to conduct thorough investigation , but it was an accident involving tanker loaded with Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) which fell and caught fire which affected other vehicles. "Our men are still there with fire service to contain the fire and further spread of the fire," he said. Mr Femi Ogunbanwo, the State Commissioner for Special Duties, who was at the scene of the incident, said the state government would wait for report from necessary agencies before appropriate response. Effects of masturbation Dele and Shayo (not real names) have been married for a few years. Shayo is a housewife, taking care of the kids, while Dele goes to work every day. Dele came back from work one fine evening, expecting to get “something light” from his wife after dinner, only for her to say “Dele I have already masturbated a few hours ago, so I am not really in the mood right now”. This was the fifth time Shayo was telling him this in three weeks, so obviously, she had replaced “Dele” with her “fingers,” using her newly purchased vibrator hidden away somewhere in the house. Dele was so angry at being deprived of his right. Being a Christian, he didn’t believe in cheating on his wife, and he didn’t want to be put in that situation so he wanted her to stop using that “evil” vibrator right away. Out of fear, she threw it away, but couldn’t overcome the urge soon and started using her fingers to please herself, Dele couldn’t take it anymore when he discovered and that was the beginning to the end. This story is the same or slightly different with many other experiences of couples in various homes. Some partners accept it because they feel it’s much better than “adultery”, while some see it as a slap on the face. The interesting part is men rarely talk about it amongst themselves. Women are more open in discussing it with each other, while couples don’t even want to mention it at all. Really interesting, isn’t it? Couples should be open about their sexual wants and desires, as well as their dislikes. 85 % of men and 45 % of women who live with their spouses are said to have masturbated. Vibrators, sex machines, sex toys and even sex dolls are steadily replacing human contact and encouraging masturbation addiction. Many people would argue that this is more common with men, than women, well that is not our debate for today, but on how it affects both genders and its aftermath in a relationship. Masturbation is derived from a Latin word “manstuprare,” meaning “to defile one’s self by hand”.Many couples I have counselled or spoken to say that masturbation is a very uncomfortable topic to broach. Imagine walking in on your partner masturbating? So many questio

Hmmmmm... We won’t vacate Ibarapaland, Seriki Fulani’s family Use President Muhammed Buhari to threatened Sunday Igboho over quit notice... Saliu Seriki’s daughter, Hauwau has reacted to the quit notice issued to her family to vacate Ibarapa region following the spate of kidnappings and gruesome killings that have ravaged the region in recent times. The Fulani herders in the region have been alleged to be the perpetrators of the heinous acts, which include kidnappings and wanton killings. The Igboho-born activist, Chief Sunday Adeyemo popularly known as Sunday Igboho had visited the Seriki Fulani’s residence at Igangan on Friday January 15, 2021 to express displeasure over brutality of the Fulani herdsmen that have claimed lives and properties worth millions of naira in the region lately. Chief Igboho, however, gave Saliu Seriki and the entire Fulanis ultimatum of 7 days to vacate Ibarapa land. This, according to him is the only way to stem insecurity in the region. Reacting to the quit notice on her WhatsApp status, Hauwau Seriki noted that Yoruba should be ashamed of driving fulani herdsmen out of their community, pointing that President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Muhammadu Buhari, is a Fulani man. Hauwau described the public outrage and the decision of Ibarapa residents to expel Fulanis from their land as uncalled for, adding that her father had spent more than fifty years in the area. She threatened Sunday Igboho for his intervention in the security challenges by asking her father, Saliu Seriki, to quit Ibarapa land. She wrote: “Sunday, Sunday, I pity your generation. You start the war and you will end it. “You people want war right, you want your father’s land? “Fulani is your President. You people should be ashamed of saying you will send away Fulanis in your father land. Did your fathers bring land from heaven? “Saliu Seriki has been on that land for more than 50 years. Now you are telling him to vacate your father land. You must be stupid. “By the time my father meets with Buhari, you will cry for help. You never know Saliu Seriki is on his way to Abuja. He is a man of his words, “awon were omo odudua,” she retorted.
Remi Surutu slaps Fathia Balogun in public If not for the notoriety of their nonconformance, business mogul Bamidele Omosehin’s lavish burial party for his late father and launch of Foundation in his honour would’ve recorded one in town event. Eye witness confessed to News of the People how guests were aghast when the two top actresses put up a show of shame at a decent ceremony. An eyewitness account revealed that that it the elderly Remi Surutu who went to Fathia Balogun’s table and gave her a dirty slap even though unprovoked. It then became a mini pandemonium typical of their trade nicknamed ‘ija igboro’ before the two were separated and nerves calmed. Sources hinted that Remi had been having grudges against Fathia on what she told her friends as Fathia’s disrespectful act, therefore looking for an avenue to bounce on her and ‘teach her’ lessons. Other rumour mongers also added that Faithia may be romantically linked with the London-based celebrant whom Remi regards as his younger brother. All attempts however to speak to the actresses were rebuffed as neither of them responded to calls and messages sent to them. Culled from The New of The People

Nigerian doctor suspended for beating his 10-year-old son with a broom in the UK blames his cultural upbringing in Nigeria Nigerian doctor suspended for beating his 10-year-old son with a broom in the UK blames his cultural upbringing in Nigeria for the act as heA Nigerian consultant anaesthetist based in the United Kingdom who was suspended for beating his 10-year-old son has been reinstated back. Dr. Adekunle Okunuga, 59, reportedly caned his young son with the kitchen brush for misbehaving at school and made him perform squat thrusts and stand on one leg with his arms in the air while he kicked him, Mail Online reports. On the day of the incident, the boy named Child A - had been facing expulsion for swearing, using the word 'rape', and stamping on an injured girl during a PE lesson. When his parents picked him up from school, Okunuga began slapping his son in the car from the passenger seat. Once at home, he forced his son to undertake squats and then to stand on one leg with his arms in the air. Whenever Child A lost his balance, Okunuga reportedly hit him with the handle of the floor brush on the back of his legs and then kick him to make him stand up again. The report also said the consultant anaesthetist went to fetch a hammer and destroyed Child A's games consoles before caning the boy across his open palms with a walking stick. He stopped when he became aware the boy had wounds on his hands that were bleeding. The boy was treated in hospital for cuts and bruising and was later taken temporarily into foster care. Okunuga was arrested and convicted in September 2014 at Leamington Spa magistrates court of ill-treating a child and was sentenced to eight weeks in jail suspended for a year with a requirement to complete 160 hours of unpaid work after being found guilty of serious professional misconduct by a disciplinary panel. Earlier this month, the order was lifted and he was deemed fit to practise medicine again after the doctor, who worked at University Hospital Coventry, admitted his behaviour was 'excessive and uncalled for'. Lessons in Biden’s appointments of Nigerians THE United States President-elect, Joe Biden’s appointment of three young Nigerians into his cabinet is replete with lessons, not just for Nigeria, but for the entire African continent. Biden first appointed 39-year-old Adewale Adeyemo, who was the first President of the Obama Foundation, as United States Deputy Secretary of the Treasury. Next, Biden appointed 26-year-old Miss Osaremen Okolo, who hails from Ewohimi in Esan South East Local Council of Edo State, as his COVID-19 Policy Advisor. Miss Okolo is a graduate of Harvard University and a former Senior Health Policy Advisor in the US House of Representatives. The latest Nigerian young talent Biden has found worthy of appointment is Funmi Olorunnipa Badejo whom he appointed White House Counsel. Badejo, a lawyer and an alumnus of Berkeley Law College in the US, has served as a counsel for policy to the Assistant Attorney-General in the Civil Division of the US Department of Justice, Ethics Counsel at the White House Counsel’s Office. She was also Attorney Advisor at the Administrative Conference of the United States during the Obama-Biden administration. These appointments are restatements of Nigerian youths’ ingenuity and brilliance which have long been established by their forerunners in various fields of human endeavour. Many brilliant minds whom Nigeria lost, mostly to the United States through the well-known brain drain syndrome, include Saheed Adepoju, inventor of the INYE-1&2 tablet computers designed for the African market; Seyi Oyesola, co-inventor of CompactOR, a solar powered life-saving operating room nicknamed “Hospital in a box”; Jelani Aliyu, designer of Chevrolet Volt for General Motors, a leading auto brand. There is also Ndubuisi Ekekwe, developer of microchips used in minimally invasive surgical robots; Cyprain Emeka Uzoh, who holds more than 126 United States-issued patents and over 160 patents worldwide in semiconductor technology; Kunle Olukotun, who led the Stanford University Hydra research project that developed one of the first chip multiprocessors with support for thread-level speculations; Sebastine Chinonye Omeh, who conducted the
Ex-Customs boss, Ex-AG refund N8b into government coffer Details have emerged on how two former senior public officers returned about N8billion to the coffers of the Federal Government to avoid being prosecuted. A former Accountant-General of the Federation (AG-F), Jonah Ogunniyi Otunla, and an ex-Comptroller-General of Customs, Abdullahi Inde Dikko, refunded N6.3 billion and N1.9 billion respectively.Otunla was the AG-F between 2011 and 2015 while Dikko was the Customs’ Comptroller General between 2009 and 2015.While Otunla returned N6,392,000,000.00; Dikko returned N1,596,000,000.00 (naira equivalent of $8million, computed at N197 to a United States dollar the prevailing exchange rate at the time). Details of the deals leading to the refunds are contained in documents Otunla and Dikko filed in court to back up the suits they instituted against the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) and the Independent Corrupt Practices and other related offences Commission (ICPC). In the suits, they queried the decision of the anti-graft agencies to insist on prosecuting them on corruption charges after they were told to make refunds in lieu of prosecution .Otunla claimed that the now-suspended acting Chairman of the EFCC, Ibrahim Magu, promised him that he would not be prosecuted, should he return funds traced to him, companies linked to him, and his associates. He stated that sometime in 2015, he was invited by a team of EFCC investigators, probing alleged diversion of funds from the Office of the National Security Adviser (ONSA) and the Power Holding Company of Nigeria (PHCN) pension funds. Otunla said he met with Magu in the course of the investigation, when the then acting EFCC chair told him to “refund the monies linked to your companies and nobody will prosecute you.”He said based on Magu’s promise, he had a reconciliatory meeting with the investigator, where he immediately undertook to make available some funds as refunds. In line with the agreement, Otunla said one of the companies linked to him – Stellar Vera Development Ltd – refunded N750m; another company – Damaris Mode Coolture Ltd – refunded N550m, while the two firms later made additional join

*JMK: The rank of elder statesmen depleted, says Gov. Abiodun* …condoles with Family, Associates Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, on Sunday, commiserated with family, friends and associates of elder statesman, Alhaji Jubril Martins Kuye, who passed on at the weekend, aged 78. For Governor Abiodun, the demise of the former Minister of State for Finance marks the end of an era and significantly underscores the depletion of the rank of elder statesmen, men of faith and progressive politicians in the country. A statement issued in Abeokuta by his Chief Press Secretary, Kunle Somorin, quoted the governor as saying, “I have personally lost a great pillar of support, who offered useful advice to advance my political career". “I am yet to come to terms with the passage of Senator Jubril Martin-Kuye, because this is one death that inflicts not just a deep pain, but one that will linger for long, and a loss of immeasurable proportion for me as a person, to his immediate and extended families as well as the political establishment he belonged”, the statement said. Describing the late former Minister of State for Finance as a consummate politician, a boardroom guru and entrepreneur, Governor Abiodun said, the death of Senator Martins-Kuye is a huge loss to members of his family and progressive politicians in the country. “This is one death too many. It has not only depleted the rank of progressive politicians and elder statesmen, it has also succeeded in taking away a source of inspiration to many, an elder statesman who priotizes the unity and success of the nation. JMK was a mentor to a vast array of many promising businessmen and politicians. He was very cheerful and charitable. With his death, many dreams would have been shattered because his charitable activities gives hope and live to them. Indeed, a colossus has taken a bow, an orchestra has been terminated and curtain drawn on an era”, he said. Gov. Abiodun said he would miss the ebullient Senator, popularly called JMK. "He usually offered useful advice with his persuasive charm, sense of humour and prodigious intellect. We had hoped that he would be with us much longer to benefit more from his f
Why I rejected marriage proposal from Fela – Onyeka Onwenu Veteran Nigerian singer, Onyeka Onwenu has revealed that she once rejected marriage proposal from music legend, Fela Anikulapo-Kuti. Onyeka revealed this in her new autobiography, titled My Father’s Daughter. She, however, said she rejected Fela’s proposal during her visit to his club because of his other wives. According to her, she is a possessive lover and did not understand Fela’s love for women. Narrating how Fela proposed marriage, Onyeka wrote: “The second time I saw Fela was in 1984, a few years after I had returned from the United States. He had just been released from jail. “He was arrested for attempting to travel with his band for a gig in London with the sum of 1,600 pounds for their hotel accommodation. At the time, carrying any amount of foreign currency was against one of the many decrees promulgated by the Buhari/Idiagbon military junta. “After he was released from prison, Fela sent a mutual friend, the journalist Onuorah Udenwa who is now a US-based pastor, to bring me to his club. I thought that he probably wanted to thank me for speaking up for him, but that was not it. “He never even mentioned the article I had written in solidarity with him. Fela wanted to marry me, and I was flattered. I thanked him for the honour of wanting me to become his consort, but I turned him down all the same.” The music legend added that while she waited at the club to see him, she noticed that his Queen (dancer-wives) had been looking at her with scorn. “They passed by often, whispering comments about me. They were downright hostile and quite obvious about it. “I pointed this out to him and told him that I was a possessive lover and would not be able to cope as an appendage to his harem but Fela laughed.”

Fuel Subsidy Returns As Open Market Price Of Petrol Hits ₦183 Per Litre The increment in the price of crude oil at the international market has pushed the price of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) landing cost to N160 per litre. The Guardian learnt yesterday in Abuja that the while the landing cost was N160 as at yesterday (Thursday) morning, the open market price has also jumped to N183 per litre. The open market price is the expected price at the pump stations. The additional N23 is the Petroleum Products Pricing Regulatory Agency (PPPRA) pricing template component. With payment of additional N23 as contained in the PPPRA pricing template and national consumption figure of about 50 million litres daily, the Federal Government now offsets about N1.1 billion on consumption of petrol in the country daily if the situation remains the same going forward. Meanwhile, a source in the petroleum industry has called for the establishment of a special account in the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) for the importation of petroleum products. He argued that such a special fund would make foreign exchange readily available to marketers that want to import the product as a smart move of breaking the state monopoly the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) has assumed. He said: “The creation of this special fund will ensure that the NNPC is no longer bogged down by importation of petroleum products which is not its core business. There are very serious businesses that the corporation should be engaging in that can benefit Nigeria as a country more than importing products, which the private sector is most suited to do. NNPC engaging in petrol importation is not without some underhand practices that are draining the country. “The time has come for the NNPC itself to push for its exit from importation of petroleum importation business to boost efficiency in its core business areas. The creation of a special fund will encourage more marketers to come into the fray and that is most likely to lead to reduction in the pump price.” Indeed, from August 2020, there was a Federal Gazette that forbade the PPPRA from interfering in the prices of petroleum products. However, the ga
