Glowing Fjords 🌄🗻✨
•
Just came back home from a 4 day road trip around East Iceland. I drove around and hiked in the middle of the night, chasing the midnight sun. This has to be one of the most insane sunset I’ve ever experienced. The fjords were glowing and I had insane 360° views over the mountain ranges. Mind blowing experience 🤯

Crater Flow 💧🌋✨
•
A set from one of my favorite hikes in the Highlands last fall. All of those images were captured on the same day. I lucked out with absolutely perfect conditions so I spent around 17 hours exploring the area. I saw northern lights at 2 AM and started hiking up to the crater at 6:30 AM. Mind blowing experience 🔥

Midnight Glow ⚡️🌅✨
•
Mind blowing sunset by one of my favorite mountains. Experienced this in July last year at 11:58 PM, never seen anything like it. Summers in Iceland are truly epic, you can explore all night because it doesn’t get dark. Currenly planning this year’s summer solstice hike, can you guess which mountain I’m climbing? 🚶🏻‍♂️☀️

The Highlands of Iceland 🇮🇸🌋✨
•
It’s that time of the year, summer colors have arrived in Iceland which means the Highlands roads will open in few weeks! The Highlands are my favorite part of Iceland, the feeling of being there is so special. Uninhabitable volcanic deserts with otherworldly colors and formations. The ultimate “middle of nowhere” feeling. Are the Highlands on your travel list? ✍🏼

Lonely Peak ⛰🚶🏻‍♂️✨
•
I climbed one of my favorite mountains last summer for a magical view over the black sand deserts of the Icelandic Highlands. I was alone at the top for over 2 hours, what a surreal feeling. I still have a lot of unreleased videos from this hike, would you like me to make a story? Let me know in the comments 💬

Roaring Crater 🌋🚶🏻‍♂️✨
•
The intense power of the Fagradalsfjall eruption up close. The eruption has changed so much the past weeks, now we only have one crater erupting massive magma jets up to 400 meters up in the air. Those are definitely my favorite photos I’ve ever captured. It’s so hard to show the experience of seeing a volcano up close in photos, but I hope this series gives you an idea!
•
Note: I am in a safe distance from the crater in those photos. They were taken on April 31st when the 200-400 meter magma jets had not started. The area was being monitored by the ICE-SAR and the police. I had a gas monitor on me and planned the trip accordingly to the wind direction. I was actively measuring gas pollution and stayed in a safe distance from the crater the whole time.
For the photos, I set my camera up on a tripod with my 200mm lens and turned on interval timer. Distance between me and the camera is around 100 meters and the crater is around 250 meters away from me. The compression of the focal length makes me look closer. If you want to visit the eruption, always follow the rules and check news for any updates. Check out safetravel.is for more info📷

Loneliest House in the World 🏠🚶🏻‍♂️✨

Welcome to Elliðaey Island, where you’ll find the loneliest house in the world. Some people would call this their dream home, while others describe it as a their biggest nightmare. Which side are you on? Tag someone you would live there with 💬🏠

Volcano Watcher 🚶🏻‍♂️🌋✨
•
Seeing the volcano in the middle of the night is definitely the most surreal experience I’ve ever had in my life. Words cannot express how crazy this feeling is. Intense heat that radiates from the lava and the roaring sounds coming from Earth’s interior. Felt like I was on a different planet 🔥

Collapsing Crater 🌋🇮🇸✨
•
Visited the the first eruption on Reykjanes Peninsula in over 800 years, situated in Geldingadalir by Festarfjall mountain. Definitely the most surreal thing I’ve ever experienced. You could feel extreme heat coming from the lava, one of those things you have to experience to truly understand. I was lucky enough to capture this drone shot of the main crater collapsing. It happened only few seconds after I launched it so the footage is a little shaky, because I was losing my mind and didn’t know what direction to fly in 😂
