It's time to take it all in and let it all go. It's time to sit back and relax and let the love flow. It's time to be in it. Each moment that's now. You're alive. You survived. Some way. Some how! With each blessing you count, and each beat of your heart, One love Of which We are all APART! ❀️🌏❀️ Sending love to each and every one of you. I pray that you feel it in your heart and that you send it on. ✌️ Merry Christmas! 😘 (to all and to all a goodnight!) (I'm going to switch off from my phone for the next couple days and enjoy all the family time) (Though there might be a couple cheeky Christmas Tiktok dances πŸ’ƒπŸ˜œ) Thanks @kathyoungphotography for this snap! We love it so much ❀️

No snow for us this Christmas. Just sand. Lots of it! Only a few days in & it's already everywhere - Bags, car seats, washing mAchine & bum cracks! Feeling a little bit of hot today (it's 41 degrees πŸ₯΅) & a whole lot of grateful!πŸ™ No one's lives are perfect. Everyone has their struggles, despite what IG seems to portray! Some people a lot more than others right now. I hope that where ever you are, you manage to find some peace with how things are. It is, what it is, right? All you really have is where you Are right now. Although it can be so hard to do, learning to accept and surrender to your present reality and not live in the 'what could be or should be', is how you live a life of contentment. To everyone struggling, I send you so much love! I hope everyone around the world manages to have a reflective and joyful Christmas day filled with gratitude and peace. 😘😘😘 (Thanks @tribegonetravelling for the photo idea using our @sandpal_toys ❀️❀️❀️❀️)

He's found his spirit animal! It's official! He's seen plenty down at Hamelin Bay and today had a very special visitor right on the shores of the Swan River! This blue spotted eagle ray, seemed to come right up to him and his little friend to say hello and then turned and elegantly glided off. SO flippen cool!!! πŸ™Œ Perhaps it's because of his cool, calm way with them ( the music hides me shouting at him to move away from his tail! πŸ™ˆHe's not scared at all!). Or perhaps it's because his name is Storm Ray(mond) πŸ€·πŸΌβ€β™€οΈ #spiritanimal 😁

One week left of school for the year and everyone's a little cray cray! 😜 We're all tired, a bit unmotivated, a little emotional, and 2 of us have ear drums that are no longer functioning at all! πŸ™ˆ Summer holidays, we are officially ready for you!!!

@eatprayloveplay

3 months later and with a whole lot of new screws, plates and metal cables, the skinny calf (or half as it’s affectionately known), is free of the boot! Just in time for summer! πŸŽ‰ He had to celebrate by heading back to the scene of the crime. 😜 He has promised me he’d write his own post on here on the experience... It will be a first, so I’m keeping him to it. Maybe this will be the week! πŸ˜‰ Anyone else broken a leg before?!

@eatprayloveplay

Christmas party season is in full swing here in Perth! 😜 (But if it's not, where you are... #lockdown, you can still make silly Tiktoks and pretend like it is! πŸ˜‰) Happy holidays! #notmyrealvoice #wishicouldsing

2020 for me, has been the year of realising how very delicate life really is. Besides, watching peoples lives being lost and added to growing statistics on the news, I've been reminded of our fragility a little closer to home over the last month. 2 parents I know, with young kids (different families) have been recently taken, very tragically. It really hits home seeing the face of a child or a spouse who has or is about to lose their loved one. Imagining what that would be like if it was in your own family, you can't help but deeply empathize. πŸ˜” My happy photo with this sad caption has a happy ending though... This profound realisation has made me acutely more aware of how each day is actually a reason to celebrate. It's reminded me that these years with my boys being little are limited and each Christmas I get with them is a blessing. So I'm going to make the Christmas cookies, play Christmas carols ad nauseum, and get creative with that annoying little elf each and every night for the next 21 days! I'm going to attend every Christmas function (and enjoy every minute) and be grateful for the fact that I have friends and family who choose to want to spend time with me.❀️ I'm also going to try to keep myself balanced with lots of water, good nights of sleep and little moments of 'me time' to keep me calm. (And to stop me from being shouty, stressed Mom! 😜) And on the 25th December I'm going to go to sleep with a full tummy and an even fuller heart, because look at these 3! ⬆️ Faces only a Mother could love. πŸ˜† And BOY do I love them!!! β€οΈπŸ™ #justcallmeMaryChristmas

@eatprayloveplay

His first weekend out of his moon boot and he's off! #adventuretime We'll share more about the broken leg this week, but for now, the boys had their first Dad and sons camping trip! It was just one night and they were back home, dirty and tired on the couch at 10am (πŸ˜’)! I missed them terribly and it was SO awful having a silent, peaceful house for a night.... Said NO mother with almost 24 hours of the weekend to herself, EVER! 😜 Dad packed sausages, rolls, chips, Milo cereal (which is a big treat for the boys. Brownie points!), apples, banana, water and beer! He didn't pack toothbrushes (obviously), didn't get any pics of the 3 of them (😩), and they all shared 1 double inflatable mattress with a slow puncture.πŸ˜† They said they had the best time, drove through the river and rescued their friends who got bogged (bogged? πŸ€”) which was very exciting! They were also home the next day by 10am. (Did I mention that already?) Next time I hope they go for 2... I MEAN... take me with them! πŸ˜‰

@eatprayloveplay

Shoutout to all the Mums out there, planning Christmas get togethers and meals, sorting out the outfits for the Christmas school events and of course buying Christmas presents! I know you are all in full planning mode right now. πŸ™Œ I love you, Dads, so no offence here, but no one knows their way around the shops, the toy aisles and the black Friday online sales, like a Mum! We also know our kids' shoes sizes, the cheapest place to buy lego, and what type of wine old Aunty Carol likes to drink. So here's to the Mums who are making it festive AF for their families! πŸ₯‚ ( #makingmemories baby!)

@eatprayloveplay

I look at pictures like this or at their sleeping faces and I can actually feel my heart beat SO hard in my chest with the purest love in the world... Sometimes just thinking about how grateful I am for them, makes me cry. Sob. Ugly cry! 😭😭😭😭 The feelz are strong!!!! ❀️ And then there are days when the 4 hours, 12 minutes and 45 seconds between my picking them up from school and kissing them goodnight, feels like a marathon. A marathon I haven't trained for. That's run in the cold. (Boston?) Barefoot. πŸ₯Ί Today the 4 year old who woke up way too early (unusually) was in a state of full blown over tired emotional turmoil, screaming dramatically at every little thing, like only a 4 year old can do. Meanwhile the 6 year old took every opportunity to aggrevate the emotional 4 year old, like only a big brother can do! πŸ˜’ I read a quote somewhere this week that it's not our job to make them calm. It's our job to be the calm! πŸ§˜πŸΌβ€β™€οΈ I kept repeating this to myself in my head everytime I was #TRIGGERED 🀬. It kinda helped. So did the big glass of wine I've just drunk while writing this post. πŸ˜‰πŸ·

If ever there was a year to start Christmas festivities in November, this would be it!!! 2020, we plan on ending you on a high! ⭐

In light of last week's National Recycling Week here in Australia, I'd love to share some of the recycling hacks we try to implement on a daily basis to do our bit for our planet and hopefully inspire you to do the same. 🌏 πŸ’šβœŒοΈ ♻️ The boys have stainless steel lunchboxes and water bottles for school. They are long lasting, more durable and won't corrode or leach chemicals. Stainless steel is also recyclable. Reusable silicon zip lock bags are also a great alternative to plastic ones. ♻️ The clear plastic bags that are used ONCE to transport fruit & veg from the store to your home are so unnecessary. (Unless you keep them and use them again!) These cotton drawstring bags do the job well as an alternative! ♻️ There are so many soft plastics that are just unavoidable, of course! But if you keep them separate, you can take them to the REDcycle bins outside of your local Coles or Woolies to ensure that they get recycled correctly. ♻️ We have just found out that you can take eligible plastic bottles (lidless) to a local Container for Change in exchange for 10c a bottle! The boys are pumped with the incentive to earn a little extra pocket money while making a difference in the world! ❀️ Remember to only put these 5 into your yellow recycling bin for verge collection: Cans, paper, glass jars/bottles, cardboard, plastic containers/bottles. And follow @WasteSorted for more helpful tips to do your part. Or check out their website for so much easy-to-read helpful information! ✌️ #ad #BeAGreatSort #NationalRecyclingWeek #gogreen #perthlife #sustainableliving

The other day I was eavesdropping on his conversation with his school friend who was over for a playdate. He said to his mate "It's over there by the braai." *Silence* "There! It's just there by the braai!" *Silence* "it's right there next to the braai! That big silver thing!!!!" (Completely exasperated!) He meant the BBQ. πŸ˜† Bless him for not knowing it was not a commonly used English word. And bless his little buddy for not asking what the HECK a braai was! 😜 He has lived in Australia for the majority of his life (almost 4 years) but was born in the UK. His family were all born and bred in South Africa and tell him that his blood is South African. (He is still trying to understand this concept... When the questions came about how both Mom AND Dad's blood/genes got inside him, we dropped the topic! 🐦🐝) πŸ™ˆ Needless to say, when they do heritage Day at school, he is a little confused! πŸ‡¬πŸ‡§πŸ‡ΏπŸ‡¦πŸ‡¦πŸ‡Ί We correct his Aussie twang in the hope he will sound a little bit like us as he grows up and we encourage him to choose rugby over footy. 😜 We want him to embrace the culture he lives in and grow a sense of patriotism for his home, which is an important emotion to feel, but at the same time feel connected to his roots. Any other expats navigating bringing their children up in a country they didn't grow up in themselves?

@eatprayloveplay

The most amazing Christmas presents the boys have ever received? Personalised illustrations of themselves from a good friend of ours! They were gifted 2 years ago & have sat on their bedside tables ever since! The boys LOVE them and I will treasure them forever as they encapsulate the boys SO perfectly at this age. (This guy's obsession with The Lion King has featured heavily in the last 3 years of our lives! 😁🦁) My ridiculously talented friend has finally set herself up a little business! So check her work out at @candice.allan.illustration and if you are looking for a gift to impress.... πŸ’πŸΌβ€β™€οΈ We honestly love and cherish these special pictures SO much! ❀️ (I'll share the big boy's pic in another post!)

'Sand and water and time, move through our fingers; damp from the sea, the land clings to us - salty and healing. Slow down and listen to that whisper in the trees, slow down. Listen to the ancestors, bworan moort, keepers of the land singing to the silvery kwilena. They leap and call. Hear them - they have come to play, come to listen. Swim, koolangka, chase the seagulls, laugh in the clean air. See, where serpent rivers swirl into brine, where Manali dip long necks in living water. STEP GENTLY HERE. The earth is under our skin, And Wardandi Boodja keeps a warm fire burning' Wardandi Boodja, the impressive sculpture, on Bunbury's foreshore, watches over Koombana bay. A calm protected bay perfect for paddle boarding, where the dolphins love to play. He is beautiful. As are these words ⬆️ that are etched on the base of the magnificent piece of art. The message speaks to my soul. πŸ’™ He stands as a beautiful reminder of the history and culture, that I know so little about, of this country I am now lucky enough to call home. It has been @naidocweek this week and I think it's important to learn about, honour and celebrate the people and the culture of the land we live on, however much a country has evolved over time. 🌏

@eatprayloveplay

Bringing you some good vibes this Friday morning, friends! πŸ’ƒβ€οΈβœŒοΈ Have an amazing day! 😘

@eatprayloveplay

We’re counting the days until Dad’s leg is well enough for these 3 to get back to doing what they love! πŸ’™πŸŒŠ (this footage was from earlier this year) We may not have any big summer holiday trips planned but after 3 months of Dad having a broken leg, just being able to hit our local beach for a surf will feel like a holiday! Perspective, huh?! It’s the hard times that reveal to you the blessings there are in the small stuff and remind you not to take them for granted. ✌️

Sundowners on a 'school night' be like... Lipton Kombucha is a live cultured tea that is fruity and fizzy and totally delicious! I've been a kombucha nut for the last couple years and I can tell you, this is a tasty one! I love it almost as much as I love watching the golden sun sink into the ocean. β˜ΊοΈπŸŒ…πŸ§‘ Sunset or sunrise? Lipton Kombucha or... Lipton Kombucha? πŸ˜‰ #ad #LiptonKombucha

Wild dolphin encounters 2 hours from Perth! Who knew?! We didn't! We stumbled across @dolphindiscoverycentre in Bunbury when we took a last minute road trip last month. The local dolphins come into the bay in front of the discovery centre most mornings. The volunteers/researchers wait around and sound a bell if they spot them come in so that you can make your way down to see them if you are on the beach or the foreshore. We were SO lucky to be around when they arrived rather late (at around 11ish) on our last morning there. Seeing these beautiful creatures up close was an absolute treat. These boys of ours have no idea how lucky they are! πŸ¬πŸ’™

When the school run is manic and you don't have time for breaky, @7elevenaus has your back! They are also GIVING back this 7-Eleven Day by giving everyone who downloads the My 7-Eleven app between 5 Nov and 7 Dec, a freebie. πŸ‘ Because every Australian deserves an easy win in 2020! ❀️ (Also, their coffee is really good and at $1 you can't go wrong!) #ad #Redeem2020 #7ElevenAus

You are alive. And you are loved! There we go. You have 2 epic things to be grateful for this Friday morning. (I'm sure you can think of lots more!) So put an extra shot in that coffee and a little bounce in that step. Friday... Let's go!!!! 😁

@eatprayloveplay

It's poolside lunching kind of weather and I ain't sad about it! 😜 @wildlygoodfood burgers are officially our favourite veggie burgers! We have tried all the flavours and they are all delicious. (The sweet potato & the beetroot pictured here are πŸ‘Œ!) They do, however, taste slightly better when eaten on a sunny afternoon, next to the pool! πŸ˜‰ If you are looking for something easy to prepare (they are precooked and just need to be heated and charred on a pan or BBQ), chunky, delicious and satisfying, these burgers are the answer! They are vegan, banging with flavour and an easy way to get more plant based meals into your diet. Wildly Good make a few different burger varieties and fritter bites and can be bought at Cole's, Woolies, IGA and independent health shops. #wildlygood #legendaryveggies #ad

When someone leaves you a rude comment and there is a cool feature where you can call them out and reply with a video... You tell them there is a special message for them at the end and you send them lots of love from Granny. β€οΈπŸ˜‰πŸ˜œ ✌️😜

@eatprayloveplay

When you feel like the world is so heavy and so many people are struggling and there is so little you can really do to make an impact... Remember that the simple act of love - towards yourself, your family, your friends, your planet and even towards strangers - is immensely powerful. When you live your life showing love in the form of kindness, compassion, generosity, respect, empathy and forgiveness, you impact people in a positive way. Yes, little old you. YOU make a difference to the world! And you also raise children who will learn by your example, and go on to spread love and positivity. ❀️ "As it was in the beginning. One love. So it shall be in the end. One heart." ✌️

@eatprayloveplay

⭐ Here and now ⭐ That's where we are and that's all we really have. The past is over. Don't waste your tears or energy on it. It's gone. Let it be gone. The future hasn't arrived, and as scary as it is to think about , is not guaranteed. Of course you need to think about the things that need to be done and the steps you need to take. I never get to the end of my to-do list! But spending all your precious time today, living in your head in the future, will end up bringing you a life of anxiety and fear. This day. This very moment! That's where it's at. That's what we have to work with. So work it! Love your people, love YOURSELF, take care of your health, TAKE ACTION and stop procrastinating on the things you plan on doing and never get round to. Getting out of my head and into the moment is not easy for me. I am aware of when it's happening though, and I now try to bring myself back. Breathing helps. I don't know much about 'breath work' (which is a thing), but simple deep breaths really help me! So does focusing on my blessings and really leaning into those feelings of gratitude. Saying a little mantra of "I am exactly where I am meant to be" is also really soothing to a manic monkey brain like mine! πŸ™ˆ Do you stress about the future and do you struggle to stay present in the now? ❀️ Or are you generally a cool cucumber? 😁

@eatprayloveplay

An easy way to make sure you drink more water? Boost it with cold infuse tea from @liptonaus. It comes in natural fruit flavours, with no added sugar and is super easy to prepare. DROP the bag in your cold water. MOVE the water around until the tea has infused. TWIST open the lid. And DRINK! See what I did there? πŸ˜‰ Follow the dance and you're done! πŸ˜πŸ’ƒπŸ’§πŸ’™ #ad

@eatprayloveplay

When you've had a few months without your normal supply, it feels REAL good to dose up on Vitamin Sea! And with water this clear where else would you want to be? πŸ’™ It's impossible not to feel your body buzzing with good vibes after a beautiful day like today. The energy from the sun and the ocean is powerful! πŸ™ Was anyone in Perth not on the beach today? (Besides Daddy Nicoll who had a legit excuse. He needed to rest his aching leg after a big week!)

@eatprayloveplay

Fun fact about aging: The older you get, the less effs you give! 😜 So here's me shaking what my Mama gave me. Because I can. 😁 Also... dancing keeps you young! πŸ’ƒ
