No matter how many times I drive by a Bison, the sightings are just as cool as the first time seeing one. They are nothing short of majestic.
A bald eagle soaring over a valley where a carcass lies in Yellowstone. Almost as American as one can get.
It’s not everyday you come face to face with an apex predator. Yellowstone is always full of surprises that will just take your breath away at any given moment. This was truly an unforgettable encounter where a juvenile black wolf made its way down to the river’s edge to gnaw on the remains of a bison carcass where it finally looked up and gave this piercing gaze. Thank you @yellowstone_wild for putting us in the right place at the right time, all while being respectful to the wildlife and maintaining proper distance. For context, this image was taken with a 600mm lens + 1.4x teleconverter and heavily cropped. #nationalparkgeek
After years of scanning tree lines and open meadows, my top bucket list bird in the US, the Great Gray Owl, finally showed itself to me in dramatic fashion. 3 incredible sightings in just 2 days, it was what I’ve dreamt of. Be on the lookout for many more photos of this guy and other great wildlife sightings in the coming weeks. Thank you @yellowstone_wild for the help in finding this gem!
